How important is the undergraduate college you attend for acceptance into dental school? Is it a better choice to attend a very reputable (say top 20) college and get an average gpa or attend a not so reputable college and receive an above average gpa.

This topic has been discussed ad nauseum, bottom line is do not attend community college, as long as you graduate from a legit school with good gpa you will have a good shot at dental school.

If you attend a top 20 school, chances are you will learn to thrive in the rigorous dental curriculum, however if you went to a lower ranked school and hold a permanent job while you attend school, you will probably develop good study skills as well.

I would attend a top 20 school because I personally believe you get a better experience out of your college because of the resources that are available at the school.

Good luck
