Water brash has to do with GERD. I believe it's reflux of watery acid from the stomach. It causes a sour taste in the mouth.
 
Hot potato voice is a muffled kind of "hot particle of food in your mouth and talking" sound. It really doesn't make sense unless you have heard someone with a peritonsillar abscess talk, but think that when you see it.
 
hot potato voice is a muffled strange sounding voice caused by massively swollen tonsils. Jaw malalignment occurs secondary to that, resulting in the change in voice quality.

Peritonsillar abscess is a board answer for that, although anything that causes ridiculous swelling could cause this.
