Important Question About Dental School

Hello guys, I hope this application cycle blessed everyone with grandeur acceptances. Best of luck to everyone as we get ready to become dentists.

I was recently accepted to Rutgers, Columbia, UCSF, and UPenn.

I was wondering if any of these schools drug test and if so when is the testing done? I live in a house where everyone around me smokes marijuana and there is constant second hand smoke in the environment. I have done it in the past but quit last year.

I have told my housemates to not do it in the open and they understand. I just want to make sure that something like a drug test doesn't come in the way of my acceptance.

I am currently set on attending Rutgers or Columbia since I am in NY.

Any advice and information on time frames for drug testing for Columbia and Rutgers in specific would be appreciated. Thank you!

My school did a drug test (urine) during orientation week. They let us know well in advance that they were going to be doing it.

We're not tested until the end of second year, from what I understand. I think it's just a urine test. No need to worry, @trilldentist

Any reason why we would need drug testing? Maybe since we will begin to be with patients in the near future?
