real quick..if i apply early decision meaning if i get into that school i will go there..does that improve my chances of attending...? when should and shouldnt you choose early decission on the med school apps?
thanks

If you are certain it is the school you want to go to, I don't see any harm in applying early decision. If there is any doubt in your mind that you may want to attend elsewhere, wait for the regular application cycle.

Just my opinion.

personally, i would be really careful about applying ED because it really puts you behind a lot of people applying in the regular process if you don't happen to get in ED. and as well all know, many medical schools have rolling admissions. i guess it's up to you as to whether or not this is a risk that is worth taking. good luck!

also, if you DO get in, you've sacrificed the chance to compare the financial aid packages that other schools might've offered.

You also have to make sure you're a VERY strong applicant to that school. If you ask me... you should be at least 50% sure you'd get in regular decision. Also, you need a really good reason why that school is your top choice. It seems to me that most people who apply ED are those strong candidates who know for sure they want to go to their state school.
