Assuming that you used Q bank in a random fashion (all subjects, all organ systems), did you notice a rapid improvement in your scores as you studied, or was it kinda the same (at least initially)? I have been going for about a week and have consistently scored around the same percent (+/-5%), which is starting to worry me a little.
A much needed confidence boost would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Once I got used to the question format my percent went up about 5-10%. Also, as I got deeper into the questions there were a lot of repeats which raised my percent further. I wouldn't judge your percent until you are through with a subject/system.

My first time through (w/ no repeats), I got exactly 80%. I would say it was approximately 75% the first half and 85% the last half of the questions.

Second time back through, looking at 94-100% on 50-question blocks.

Will let you guys/gals know how it all pans out in 3 weeks.

BTW, did any of you take the NBME-offered paper-and-pencil practice test that was offered about 9 weeks ago? Has anyone heard how those scores correlate to the actual exam? I got a supposed 255 on that one and think it was a fluke; however, the NBME included a subject break-down and statistical analysis, etc., so I'm not sure what to think.

Best wishes to all.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of your replies. I feel somewhat ok about not improving more quickly (I attribute it to the 10 or more Anatomy, Embryo, and BS questions that I get every friggin' exam, and that I havent reveiwed).

Also bigfrank, wanted to say that I did not take the NBME exam.
