in 05 cycle, when do i apply for 06 cycle?

hi everyone,
it seems like i'm not hearing anything good from schools since november... so i'm wondering for those who applied for the 2nd time, when do u start applying for the NEXT year's cycle?

i KNOW that if i get rejected by all schools by May, then i will definately apply ONCE AADSAS' application comes out (unlike this yr, when i applied beginning of sept).

but if schools like trailing me along...then rejecting me a lot later, say july or smthing...then i won't be a happy camper...cuz as long as i get into 1 dental school, i'm not gonna re-apply...since it's very $$$$$$$$ 🙁

so let me formulate my question clearly:
If you haven't heard from all schools by the time the next yr's application cycle is out, when do (or did) u apply?

When the time to reapply gets closer I would call the schools that have not made a decision and state your case.

Other than that I would apply as early as possible. Make sure you have something new to add to your application...More science course work, or relevant work experience. Also they will likely want to see a new essay as well as a new LOR.

I have a question here. If someone is to reapply, as they file out a brand new AADSAS application, do they have to file new LORs? If so, that's a lot of hassle to ask the people to write for you again.

No news is probably good news... My friend who goes to Temple said they do rounds of acceptances, so hopefully you'll be accepted in the next round!

To the OP: I understand your situation. In all honesty, the odds of you getting into a school after May are slim to none. Yes it happens, but you simply can't bank on it.

If I were you, I'd hope for the best (an acceptance this year) but plan for the worst (you'll need to reapply).

If I were you, I'd get my application ready and apply the first day AADSAS comes out or early June. I know it's expensive, but it's just a drop in the hat to what you'll be spending on your entire dental education.

Alternatively, you could apply in July if you feel more comfortable, but you MUST make sure your LORS and everything else will be submitted RIGHT AWAY. It does you no good to apply in July this time around and not have your LORS sent until September. You might have well just applied in September.

really sorry about your situation. i am really surprised that you arent in yet with your stats. i dont know about the carving and how they look at that score, but you seem to have pretty good stats. i would seriously call the schools and find out what made your application weak so that you improve on that should you have to apply again.
