Hey, I am a reapplicant to optometry school. I applied to NOVA, Penn, and Mass. I applied with the minimum, 90 credit hours. I am reapplying and will get my BA in the summer hopefully. My OAT scores were low: TS 300 and AA 300. (bio and math were very low) I want to retake the test but I am sure I will not do signifigantly better because I took it about a year ago and have not really been studying for it because I am trying to finish my BA (36 credits left) by the summer. I really want to get in for 2007, so I would appreciate any feedback on what I should do or anyone who has been through something similar.

anyway, i think you should really go for the OAT again and it shouldn't be too difficult since you have already taken it once before. It only takes couple of weeks to get a higher score if you just bite down hard and do it. i might take it again too assuming i don't get accepted this year. when you are an reapplicant, i think the chances are higher since you're showing persistance, assuming with improvement since the last time you applied. also, are u applying say evvvverywhere? Cuz some people would apply to 10 schools, and get accepted to ONE... if you don't get in 2007, the application process starts again in the summer. it's right around the corner. in the end, if you want it, u'll get it. that's why some people get in with 300s and some rejected with 360s. good luck!

hey guys... well i am only applying to three schools. the reason i chose those schools is because that is where i thought i would have the best chances of getting in, (i compared my scores with the school's average enrollment stats). i think it is too late late now to apply for 2007, even though not all the deadlines have passed, right? i was very close to getting into NOVA, i interviewed, sent in transcripts and all that good stuff, i was on a "hold" status up until like a week before they started the semester. i really wasnt given a reason to why i was not accepted, Fran told me my bio OAT could be better. i dont know how much better i would do if i take it agian, i have not been preparing at all, and i am currently doing an overload of 21 credits. i had applied with the minimum requirement, 90 hours. my application there is not complete yet but i am working on it, i was at a community college and just transferred last semester so i am still putting together recommendation letters.
