Have any of you taken 3 pre-reqs at once while still working full time? How terrible or easy was it? Were you able to have a life? What classes did you find were easiest/ hardest to take together? I might be needing to do this and am looking for some insight as to how it might be for me during that semester.

*I still need to take A&P I, A&P II, Intro chem, Chem I, Chem II, Physics I, Physics II and Bio II

why take 3 in one semester?? It would be worth it take take max two at a time and get good grades rather than try to cram 3 in one semester. I would recommend taking physics as your only science and not double or triple up on them the same time you take physics.

Unless you are good at it, I don't recommend taking Chemistry with another pre-req. Those classes hurt me bad! And I agree with the above, spread them out and get better grades rather then cramming and suffering poor grades and having to re-take. Only you know you're capabilities though!

I took Chem 1, Physics 1, Bio 1, and Med Term last semester while working part time. I got A's in all my classes, but you really got to be committed to study hard. But there's no way I could've worked full time and done all that.

aczerniak,

I work full time in an acute hospital and took abnormal psych, chem 1, chem 2 all with lab as well physics 1 and 2 with lab in a year. Not going to lie it was HARD, but definitely manageable. I pulled off A's and B's. i made use of all the down time i had as well as lunch to study and do class work, and sacraficed my weekend to study. In the end all this work you put in will be well worth it when you get that acceptance letter to a program. Hope this helps.

It's possible, but awful. I took Physics 1, Cell and Molecular Bio, and Advanced Human Physiology, all three with labs. I worked 35 hours a week and I legitimately stopped sleeping for long stretches of time. I'm sure more intelligent people than I could do it, but I eventually started hallucinating.

Taking 3 pre-reqs at the same time will be difficult. I took intro chem, chem 1, chem 2, physics 1, physics 2, anatomy and physio within a year's time, but went to summer school to do that. Working full time and doing a whole lot of driving made it very stressful, even though i only took 2 pre-reqs at a time. Like others have said, you just need to prioritize your time, realize you won't have much (or any) free time, and remind yourself that in the end it will be worth it!!

I took my year of Physics, Chem, and Anatomy/Physiology (all with labs) at the same time, and also did my observation hours during that time. I only worked part time and didn't think it would be humanly possible to work full time doing all that (at least for me). I spent pretty much every waking moment studying in order to get the A's I wanted. The most important skill that got me through it was effective time management and planning.

I've been taking one class at a time and getting good grades because in the end all schools care about are average incoming GPA's and GRE scores they can report.

I might take two classes max

Have you thought of taking one in the summer?

I'm taking A&P II this spring, physics in the summer start applying to schools here in chicagoland area probably take chem II and physics II in the fall.
My job really wants me to work two evenings a weeks which really puts a damper on taking more than one class

I took three classes during two semesters, but I was working part time and observing maybe 10 hours a week. I think you could handle two classes while working full time but no more. Your goal needs to be to get the best grades possible, not to finish as fast as possible. You'll end up retaking classes.

Bottom line: don't do it.

Only do it if you absolutely know you'll be 100% dedicated to making good grades. I work full time and I took 3 pre-reqs per semester for a whole year (2 semesters) and it was ROUGH. I hardly slept and never had a social life. All my friends knew I didn't have time to do anything except for studying. All my coworkers knew I was exhausted everyday. It was very tough, but it is definitely doable. Don't let anything deter you from making good grades. I had a physics tutor that helped me a lot and that definitely helped.

I took 2 pre-reqs per semester for 2 semesters and that was more manageable. I was still very busy but not as much. It's hard to say what classes are easiest/hardest to take together because everybody learns differently and certain subjects are hardier/easier for other people. Also, it really depends on who your professor is. My A&P 1 prof was amazing & the class was easy. But my A&P 2 prof was soooo hard. So it really depends on you & the profs. But I really think anybody can do anything they set their mind to. I made all A's in my pre-reqs and that was with working full time. Not easy, but definitely doable. Good luck.

I was an athlete..practicing 20 hours a week and travelling..and i have had 2-3 pre-reqs at a time and been fine. it depends on your time management skills and how hard those classes are at your university

That's just like my job! They are not happy about me taking classes outside of work because they want me available for nighttime hours (to facilitate out participants). Also, I was thinking of going to a chicago city community college but they only offer very basic courses I believe in the summer. So hopefully I take take maybe Intro Chem and PHysics I or something over summer...
