In Oz what meds can a psychiatrist prescribe other than psych meds?

In Australia are psychiatrists allowed to prescribe other medications besides psych meds? What other types of meds can they prescribe?

Yes. I can prescribe basically anything. I went to med school just like all of my other colleagues in other fields. Depends on inpatient vs community though as I’m not going to be fixing my patients blood pressure or type 2 DM or heart failure or their biologics for RA since I’m not managing or following up that aspect of their care. I can write it all up when they’re admitted though.
