Applying next cycle, taking 3 courses this coming spring that are repeat classes to bump my GPA up but grades wont be processed until june 12. If I submit my apps before those grades are posted will AACOMAS look at the old grades or wait to verify the new repeated grades? I can't find anything regarding how repeats that are in progress work for GPA calculation. I'd like to submit as early as possible so would prefer not to wait until june 12 to submit...

Its a lot harder to get your repeat classes approved as an academic update. June is still really early for the DO cycle. Personally I would wait until afterwards (Late June/Early July) to get verified instead.

I asked AACOMAS over spring about this and they stated the class needed to be same pre-fix, same institution to get approved as a repeat for an academic update. So i followed their advice and had one retake over this summer and tried to get it approved as an academic update. It was a big hassle to get it approved. Three times it was calculated improperly. I had to speak with three reps, send a pdf with my calculation to show the proper GPA.

You need to have all of your grades in to get them verified. June 12 is extremely early considering that June 1st is the first day available to submit your application. Just wait..many people are still waiting on their MCAT results in September and October.

Geez, that sounds like a pain. I'll probably just wait then. I think I'm more concerned about my primary university actually getting the transcript over to AACOMAS. They're notorious for taking their sweet time with transcripts. Do you know if I can have my primary school transcript sent over early then the other transcripts from other schools I took the repeated courses at right after they post grades?

Yes you can send your primary transcript first and then your other transcripts once the grades are posted, I did the same thing! Just make sure to not submit AACOMAS/AMCAS until you see transcripts from all schools are received
