CCOM prefers Illinois residents....I think your best bet is to check out the princeton review's "Complete Book of Medical Schools"...it tells you exactly which schools prefer in-state(both DO and MD)..it was really helpful for when I applied.
In fact, for CCOM, I heard you had to be reallllly well qualified to get an interview if you were out-of-state.
I'm not sure I agree with Cash Mani regarding CCOM...roughly half of this past year's 1st year class was from out of state. In particular, there were lots of people from Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and California, as well as many others. I think that this number of about 50% in-state students is relatively constant, and you should not be discouraged about applying from out of state. Good luck.
