Which DO schools give high preference for in-state students? I know TCOM gives 90% TX resident acceptance (I'm a TX resident). Do you know if any of the other schools are that strict? Are they worth applying to if you're out of state?

I've heard that NYCOM likes in-staters. Also, PCOM is more regional from what I hear.

OSU, OU, MSU, and UMDNJ are state institutions and they give preference to in-state students.

I know KCUMB gives no preference to in state at all. It is located in Missouri and has a highest population of Kansas residents, with Alabama and Texas and Arkansas close behind.

PCOM-Georgia gives high preference to staters. PCOM also has preference to PSU grads, so I know and hear.

UMDNJ seems to take about half the class from out-of-state, the statistics show everyone as in-state because everyone moves to NJ the month before school and becomes in-state for purpose of tuition. If you are a competitive applicant and want a great school, don’t hesitate to apply. We have a few Texans in my class

Do you think my numbers are competitive on my MDapps page for NJ? I plan on retaking the MCAT and getting a second BA in bio before applying, but do you think I am competitive as I stand now?

Yes, I think your numbers look good. If you apply early and write a damn good secondary essay I believe you have a good shot. Our secondary is an open ended question with no limit and I know they really read everything in your app so make sure you do a good job on it. Good luck
