Does anyone know how easy it is to get in-state tuition for the second year at unc? It would be much much much less expensive... so I'm really hoping that it is possible. The website tells you how to do it, but nothing about students' success rates in doing so.

The school actively encourages people to apply for in-state tuition because that way, they can give more financial assistance. They suggested getting an NC licence, changing your plates, transferring your bank account to a local one, etcetera. Begin building your residency case as soon as you get to NC. There is someone who is on the residency committee that also has a position in the SPH to help you.

Do you know if most students are able to get it though? I plan on doing everything as soon as possible, but I'm still worried I won't qualify and then ill be on the hook for another $20k = (

Call the SPH and ask them about success rates. When I visited there, there is a lady that helps out with that and I can not remember her name. When I get home from work I will go through my information and try to get you a name and number to call/
