Hey,

1) Is sending an "In the Area" email to a school that you feel you are competitive at (read: not a reach) a good idea?

2) It is an email, right? Not a phone call to the admissions office?

3) If you are border-line interview invite, does this little trick actually help you get an interview invite (because it shows your genuine interest)?

Thanks

I always use email and I have gotten interviews 3/4 times I've done this. I am from alaska though...so I mean it is a little different since im travelling 4000 miles. But if you are polite it does not hurt
