Good Luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow!!! I'm sure you will really enjoy your time at UIW! I was really impressed by the campus and faculty at my interview last weekend. The only advice I have is, be prepared for a LONG day and don't forget to be yourself!

Thanks!!! Lol long day? Is the process like Texas Tech?😱

Idk... I didn't apply to Tech. But with the writing, interview, and critical thinking skills test, you have to pretty much stay for the whole interview time (Plus the Pharmacy students also talk to you and give you a tour of the Pharmacy school if you would like). I was scheduled for the afternoon time and from the time I parked to the time I left was from 12:00-5pm.

So how did the interviews go yesterday?

i thought it went well..the interview was really not that bad. i was nervous, but they were really nice and easy to talk to. The students all like the school. I thought that the computer test was difficult! I was burnt out from the essay and the interview. It took me pretty much the whole hour.

How about you?

Good to hear things went well! Yeah I was pretty exhausted towards the end of the day, but I thought the over all process was pretty fair. The essay was a breeze! The prompt they gave us was the one question I had prepared for my interviews, so I was excited! The actual interview was very down to earth and friendly. There are a few answers that I wish I had answered better, now that I have had time to go back and think about it, but oh well......... And, the computer part I thought was very interesting but easy. It wasn't really a test of our skills as I was expecting, but more of our character and the way our brain functioned. (Not sure if there were any right or wrong answers on the computer part... except maybe the bus question lol)
Over all I was very pleased and was pleasnatly surprised with this school. When I was invited for an interview, UIW and UH were tied as my top choices, however I believe that after visiting UIW and experiencing the environment and people I have bumped it up to my top choice! I am reallllllllly hoping to get in!!! (plus I have lived in Houston my whole life and am ready for a change!)

So how did the interviews go yesterday?

Mine was great man! Everybody was so loving and caring. My interview turned out be like a conversation. There was one question that I got stumped but oh well......

The test was hard. My brain died after 10 or 12 questions and I just started clicking haha. I hope they only count the interview and the essay.

My interview was last Fri and it was very relaxed, probably because it was my last one. I thought we didn't have enough time for the essay but I managed to to write down 3 paragraphs. I liked both people who interviewed me, very friendly and made me feel they weren't bored when they had to listen to me bragging (lol). About the computer test, I think they are trying to see whether you use your judgement and caution. I didn't tour around the school because we had to drive back, I'm from Dallas anyway. Just out of nowhere, the traffic around Austin was horrible; most of the gas was used up there.

does anyone remember if we were suppose to call the school Tuesday with grades if we need to update? Or we were suppose to only update if we get an acceptance? Im a little confused. I had some grades that I didnt upload to pharmcas yet.

Hi everyone, I'm withdrawing my app because I was accepted to Texas Tech. Good luck everybody!! 🙂

hey guys, current p1 here. hope you all did pretty well on you interviews this month. I know i got to talk to a few of you if you interviewed on the 4th.

i know i saw someone asked about the missing pre-reqs in the letter or pharmcas. personally, i'd go with the letter. its pretty much what they've gathered from pharmcas. call in if you're still unsure though.

as far as finding out about whether you've been accepted or not, they don't start sending out letters until May 1st. And by sending out, they mean giving them to main campus to mail out, which may take some time. Don't fret if you haven't heard anything on May 2nd lol. Give USPS a week or so, and concentrate on your current classes. You WILL know where you stand by the end of the month.

let me know if y'all have any questions/concerns

hello, iam currently taking prerequisites with a 3.7 gpa minus anatomy, genetics, org chem and physics.
what are your schools minimum gpa intake? how much is your semester fees? per year? what are my chances? any advise?
thanks, cherryl.

minimum overall GPA (all universities/CC's together, usually calculated via PharmCAS) is 2.5, with a min. 2.5 in Math and Sciences.

tuition per semester is roughly $14k, so per year is about $28k.

as far as chances go, i'm not one to really gauge what someones chances are based on GPA or anything... so sorry there lol

and advice, really get a good grasp on your chem and anatomy. Those are a MUST at any school, FSOP included.

wow 28K is a lot of money and I already have 30k from undergrad...I hope i get accepted to a state school cause rt now I will even take TSU with their 14k and horrible labs.

It really is. I already got accepted into one school out of state but I wanna hear back from feik before I make any plans. Hope they get back to us soon!

How many hours have you currently taken? And, how many of them are science/ what is your science and math GPA.

Although your GPA is very good, the classes that you have yet to take are the ones that seem to be more intensive...aka may effect your GPA. However, stick with it and remember that your science and math GPAs are weighed very heavily.

All the financial information is on the COP website as well as the main campus website.

Hang in there!! you can do it! 👍

Hi!! I am also currently a P1 and have met many of you at the interviews! Judging from last year, FSOP starting mailing out acceptance letters in mid April. I believe it was April 19 when the first round of letters were sent! So yes, I do believe mid-late April is right! Good luck and I hope you hear from them soon [:

dont lose hope...i got waitlisted as well...i guess i interviewed on march 11 maybe? whn did u interview btw???

For those who are waitlisted keep your hopes up. I'm sure people will give up their seats as other schools are offering them admission. Ive heard of ppl getting calls up to august 1st so there is still some hope left!

I've been wait listed! I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. :scared:
Does anyone happen to know if there is a certain ranking for those wait listed and how far into the list they actually went last year? 😱

Does anyone know how the waitlist process works? Does everyone who got interviewed, but did not get accepted get automatically moved to the waitlist? Because if that's the case then 300 people got interviewed...and 100 got accepted...so 200 got waitlisted? Or did they actually reject some people?

nothing yet, I just checked my email, I hope its alphabetical or individual letters lol

I got waitlisted too...but my friend told me that only 220 was interviewed? Tell me if he is wrong.

really? I remember when i went to the interview, the dean said that "we are interviewing just a little over 300 students" ....hmm...well I still want to know how the waitlisted process works...

There was a little over 280 slots. I would think about 30 did decline before even getting an interview... Congrats to those who got in! I will see you all in August!

btw Can everyone who got in tell which school they came from and where they are from?

Congrats to all who were accepted!!!
I got wait listed so all who are in the same boat, let's keep each other updated!! Good luck!

Just received an e-mail, I got wait listed too. I fell in love with this school when I went and had a really good experience with them. I really want to get in to this school, I'm keeping my hopes high, fingers crossed:xf:

How does the wait list process work and how many people are on the list (an estimate) basically what is the likelihood of getting accepted after being wait listed? (How many accepted, rejected, waitlisted if around 200 people interview)

And the people who are wait listed are they all offered admission until the class doesn't get full. And after being wait listed if we don't hear anything back from UIW does that mean we didn't get in?

(I'm sorry for all the question, but I was just wondering😕

I got waitlisted as well but I got in my #1 school of choice so is it more of an avantage to other people who want to get in if I send an email to withdraw my name or just leave it like that?

withdraw will give more chances to other applicants!

Hi everyone! First of all, CONGRATS TO EVERYONE who got accepted!!! 😀

Second thing is, as someone said earlier, around 280 students were interviewed. The maximum amount of students that each class can hold is about 103. Last year, students received acceptance letters only via snail mail and those who were waitlisted were not informed, but I guess things have changed for the better! Our school, however, does send out rejection letters, especially during the first wave. So to those of you who were told you were waitlisted, congrats, too, for being a competitive applicant! But, really though, good job to everyone who made it this far and was offered an interview! Dr. Coleman, Assistant Dean, came into class today attempting an April Fool's joke but had told us that she just got done sending out 126 acceptance letters. Most schools usually expect a 50% rejection during each wave of letters, so to those who are still waiting, don't give up hope and continue to strive for pharmacy school! 😀

Hello everyone, i didnt recieve an email from the school 🙁 does it mean that im rejected?! did everyone recieve emails? I feel so frustrated!

I have heard some people did not get their email as well. But for the most part, I think they sent everything. I would suggest waiting for it in the next couple of days (this coming monday), check your spam mail as well. Last resort would be waiting for the packet.

Good luck!
