Hi, I've recently had some research accepted to two conferences. I'm writing an update letter to some schools, but just named the two projects in the letter. Do you think that it would be a good idea to include copies of the two abstracts in addition to the letter or is this a waste?

Thanks.

I'd say that it couldn't hurt to add the two abstracts. However, it's not guaranteed they will be read so I'd briefly (BRIEFLY) summarize the content of the abstracts in the body of the update letter. If they find the topics interesting, they'll probably be more willing to read attached abstracts than look up the articles themselves. Best of luck.

why don't you just send them your CV with the citations for the presentations on there? that will be more impressive and easy to deal with than the dense abstract. If you were doing md/phd than an abstract probably makes sense since people doing research similar to yours could read it but for the general md adcom a CV would be more effective. that's what i have done at least and I got a recent invite to upenn after updating them with a cv including new presentations (also mentioned the presentations in the BRIEF letter that went along with the CV)
