I recently was accepted into UCSOP and have to make a decision by Jan. 2 if I will be enrolled there next fall, but it is the only program I have had the chance interview and get a feel for the campus. I have applied to 9 schools and have 9 interviews. I narrowed those down to Wingate, Mercer, Creighton, Pacific (OR), Midwestern-Glendale, and Buffalo. I am worried if I decline admission I could not like these other programs as much as UCSOP or, even worse, not get accepted to any other program. Does anyone have any insight on these other programs and/or their competitiveness compared to UCSOP? Thanks!!

So you haven't been to those other 8 interviews yet? If you're worried, just put down the deposit for UCSOP as a back-up. That way, you can comfortably know that you will have a school to attend next Fall while finding a better fit in other schools. And if those other schools don't work out, well, then you will already have made the right choice. A lot of people do this thinking they won't get in elsewhere (chances are they will, but idk if you want to take that chance). I did the same :/

And I didn't apply to those same schools but I did interviewed at Midwestern-Glendale and I really liked it. The campus is beautiful. Their on-campus housing option is so much cheaper than off-campus housing and you get so many free amenities. The staffs are super friendly and the program sounds great (3 years, save money). It's also in a really great location with a continuously growing campus. It's one of the schools that I really liked and wanted to attend. I can't say much about other schools you applied to though.

Yeah, UCSOP is the only interview I've had. Before the interview, Wingate and Midwestern were my top two, but now I really have no idea because my opinion on UC changed so much during the interview day. I thought about putting down the 500$ and still interviewing, but I really just don't have the money to.

How are you going to pay for school if you don't even have $500?

I have the deposit money but I don't have enough to pay a deposit then still fly around and pay for hotels to do more interviews then possibly a different deposit. I'm using loans to pay for school.

You need to find the money because going to different schools to interview (especially the better ones) is an important investment for your future. You can really get a gauge on what the study atmosphere is like when you go and you may find a school you like even better.

Ask your good friends, family, anyone who cares about you. Don't be afraid to "be a bum" and ask for cash, you really need it to get a good picture of the best school for you.

Very true, guess there really isn't anything else to do besides go to more interviews and put in my deposit... Do you know anything about the other programs I listed that could help me narrow down my list to maybe 3 other interviews. I keep going back and forth from just looking at stats and pics...

I can speak a little bit about Wingate and Creighton.

Both are private schools, Wingate is a new program, the admissions crew are generally responsive to questions.

Creighton is an older program, the admissions crew are also generally responsive to questions. This is a Christian school so keep that in mind.
