I found out that I'm going to be going to the 2-day interview at Indiana and had a couple questions:

(1) Do I need to bring two suits to the interview or is one of the days more casual?
(2) On that Saturday, will there be anything planned for after my interview time or is that the only thing I come for on Saturday?

Thanks.

Nothing to be jealous of here, Hockey. I'll be lucky to get one acceptance.

I was thinking of a sports coat with no tie on Friday, but didn't want to be the only idiot that showed up without a suit & tie on.

Stop being modest! with the acceptance thing. you and everyone on this damn website knows december 1st is going to be your lucky day.

Friday my attire (Krameresque)
Fur coat
polyester suit
top hat with feather
pimp cane
and little bling bling in the grill.

In that case, I'm going to try and score the 'Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor' dreamcoat for the Friday interview.

hey guys...my interview isn't until nov 4/5th, but i was hoping you would have some advice on where to stay? i got the sheet they sent with the interview letter, but i'm on a very strict budget and need some place a little cheaper...suggestions?

FC and HD, I cant wait to see you guys in less than 2 weeks in Indy! I amstaying at the BW. how about you?

In regards to the outfits, i am going to have a suit on for both days. I'll wear the same suit but with different shirts and ties. We each have our own 1:1's with Dr. Kasberg on Friday and i want to be as presentable as possible.

Sounds good, Comet. I am planning on doing the same with the suit.

My brother actually lives in Indy, so I'll be staying with him that weekend.

I guess I do that as well. I don't want to rock the boat.

I think I am going to stay at the best western as well. I just gotta get a reservation booked.

cool beans.. just be sure to ask for "IU rate" of $81/night.

According to the lady I talked to there she said that Friday was casual and more like a jeans and tucked in polo day. I will double check but I have heard that from 2 sources. Saturday is formal and def. a suit day. I already picked the tie out.

Who are your sources? When i visited IU 2 years ago, i was told we could not wear jeans even as students. Unless things have changed since.

Er, that's a big negative, Houston. Blue jeans are perfectly fine the first two years. The only time you're not allowed to be in jeans are when you're in clinic. In lecture and down in the lab, I wore them all the time. I'm not sure what the lady was thinking on that one.

Thx Bill for the clarification. Will you have time to hang with us next weekend or are you actually part of the admission this year??

In regards to attire, are we coming to a concensess?

i have an interview there too, i heard that the interview is real 'chill' - the admissions commitee doesn't 'grill' you questions, it's much more laid back - is this true?

also, besides being yourself, how else do you guys prepare for an interview?

I'd be glad to meet up with everybody if we can get a time put together.

So we can wear jeans the first day with a nice polo and suit the next day correct.

Or is it Suit both days.

For all you having the 2-day interview next week, make sure you call the office and confirm that you will be attending. I just received an email about it.

I talked to Rhonda about the dress code. She encouraged NOT to wear a suit on Friday but said it is a must for Saturday. She did ven OK jeans for Friday.

you just need one suit for your interview day only. i am assuming that you'd be doing the mock PBL on the other day so you could wear whatever you want. i wore a pair of slacks and shirt without a tie for it(by indiana standards, you'd be more than dressed up if you just wore slacks that arent jeans.)

good luck on your interview.

I've got the two-day interview this upcoming weekend (10.7-10/8) and I booked the Hilton downtown (1.5 miles from the school) for $42.00/night through priceline.com. I've never been to Indianapolis so I guess staying near the school could be a positive or a negative. Hmm...

Hey guys, what is the Difference between two day interview at Indiana and one day interview. I am only living like 3 hours away from Indianapolis so I thought I would just go for one day interview on probably thursday since I have no classes on thursday. Is there a specific reason why Indiana offers two different kinds of Interviews. Does it make any difference on your acceptance. Thanks guys.

It was a fun and relaxing day today at IU. Wish you all best of luck tomorrow.

Hi, is anyone going to be going to Indiana on November 4th and 5th, for the 2 day interview? I will be interviewing November 5th and would like to find out if there are other SDN people going to be around at that time at Indy. I can't wait.

Anybody at all? Please, someone let me know that you are going to Indiana November 4&5!!!!

i'll be there on the 4th and 5th!!!! 😀

There should be a group of 30 candidates there. They make the process very relaxed. best of luck to all.
