I just logged into AADSAS to check if I had any new messages, and I looked under Status - At Designated Schools, and the only one that has a status is Indiana which says "Received/Application Denied"

I'm going to call them tommorrow to see if there was something missing, but is this their way of giving a rejection?

yea, you should get an email shortly

I'm pretty sure you are rejected. My guess is that they DO send an email, but for whatever reason, you didn't receive one. The same thing happened to me. I called IU to check to see if my application was complete and she politely told me that I should've received a rejection later a week or two prior to calling.

Hm, maybe iit got sent to my spam. Or maybe I'll get one soon. Anyhow, thanks for the fast responses.

I just got an email from IU saying "not being considered", pretty disheartining

in it they said "you may want to consider the following information"

and it lists several stats for their interview class of last year (gpa, volunteer hrs, dat scores) and the funny thing is all my stats meet, if not exceed what they want me to "consider" loll

...I don't know if you are considering this (and I know I don't really belong on this board--but I used to work @ that school)...but if you are not in-state, their requirements are extremely strict. The email they sent probably had the overall class stats, but their out of state requirements are separate and much more rigorous.

All of the Indiana schools (medical/dental/optometry) try to give as many spots as possible to in-state students because IU is the ONLY medical/dental/optometry program in the state.

I just received an e-mail from Ms. Farris stating,

"After initial review of your application by the Admissions
Committee, they would like to see your fall grades before making a
decision concerning a possible interview. Please have your fall
transcripts sent to us as soon as the new grades are posted."

Does anyone know if this is good sign? I'm currently a masters student at Columbia U. Does anyone have a similar experience and may want to share the outcome? Thanks!

Here's the lowdown. It's not a good sign--a good sign would be getting an interview. It's not a bad sign either--a bad sign would be getting a flat-out rejection. So, it's borderline. Things could be better, but they could also be worse.

Get those grades in to them and good luck! You're still in the running with them!

personally, i think its a stalling tactic

what do you mean by "a stalling tactic." I feel that if they weren't interested they would just reject me...why stall? Isn't it more of a hassle to review it again or even take the time to write me an e-mail? Just my thoughts, but again, I'm new to the situation so I'm not sure what to think. And, actually the same thing happened to me at Nova too! They said as long as I have A's/B's and no C's I would have an interview in Jan. So, to me it seems like I'm borderline with my stats and a good grad. gpa would sort of put me over the top...

well, that doesnt sound too bad at all. i bet you can get those grades. good luck with your interview.

Thanks! Good luck to you too.
