Hey guys,

On a couple of the other threads talking about underrated programs, I noticed Indiana would always come up. I was wondering if there were any current posters from Indiana who would like to elaborate on what the program does best, and what people should keep in mind when considering Indiana. From what I understand, the neurology program is quite good; it is a HUGE hospital system and you need to travel to some parts by rail (??). The facilities are a bit run down though, and Indianapolis has a sizeable population but doesn't really have a city feel (i.e. no real downtown). Am I on track here, or totally off?

I'm trying to figure out where Indiana should fall on my list and when I should interview there.

Thanks! 🙂

My chair also highly recommended that I apply to Indiana due to the excellent training there, but I got the impression it wasn't as research-heavy as I would like.

I don't know a lot about the Neurology program, but it is considered a strong program. In terms of the program, it should be considered middle to high on your list depending on your other interviews.

About the city of Indy: you're pretty accurate. There is a downtown, but it lacks vibrancy and dies down quick after work hours. Overall, the city is slow and it can be harder to meet people than in other cities. Indy doesn't have much of a city feel, I agree.
