Did anybody else get an invitation for an interview at IU yet? I got an e-mail today and am calling to schedule a time on Monday.

I think August... I just sent my app in less than 2 weeks ago though.

I have an interview date set up with IU. I am pretty sure that their application process didn't start until September 1st as far as I know. Either way, I had mine completed sometime the last week of August and already heard back! Yay! I think my interview date is Oct 5th. I couldn't go any sooner as I had conflicting interview dates at other colleges!

Cool! I'm going on 9/28, which is the second choice that they gave me. The first date they gave was 9/21 which I couldn't go to, and it's a good thing because I got a dental interview for that day (near my home so I can go) which I didn't have a choice of the date for.

Did you get an e-mail from them on the status of your app? I got one today saying that I am missing OAT scores (which should have been sent in May) and one LOR which also should be in... I have to investigate.

JACKCM...you took the DAT and OAT and applied to both schools? what are you leaning towards more?

I'm leaning towards optometry more. I know the pay is less and it is harder to start a practice, but for me that is not what's important. I find the field much more interesting to me and think it will be more rewarding for me as well.

I got an email for an interview on aug 22nd from IU, aug 24th ICO, and sept 17 MCO. I scheduled my interview for IU to be this week friday, so wish me luck!

I'm going to be cheap about it. I will be driving down there and go straight in for an interview.. its about a 6 hour drive. Then i'm just going to drive back home after the interview.

Ah, it's a 9 hour drive for me so that's not much of an option. I thought about driving but realized that with gas it would cost the same amount to fly and it would be much easier.

Well I just got here today, the campus looks pretty nice so far. We'll see what I think of the School of Optometry tomorrow.

So...a lot of people have obviously gone to IU for their interviews. Is anyone willing to share their experience and/or any advice??

I agree. I have an interview there on Friday. I already went to one at UAB and it was fairly straight forward. Any suggestions for IU?

Don't be nervous... everyone there was really nice and the campus was beautiful. They were all really helpful, not overbearing at all, and were very helpful explaining the admissions process and everything. It was a pretty easy day.

so I have an interview at Indiana on Nov 9th and was wondering about how long it takes to hear their decision on your application? JackCM must know this one😛

Heh, they e-mailed me less than a week after. I think the committee meets every week, so if your application is complete then they will make a decision the Wednesday after your interview.

just relax at the indiana interview...it was VERY low stress, not really any tough or surprise questions...i found out the following wednesday that i was in

what did you do for a picture to bring. I don't have any professional type head shots or anything so I was going to find a nice picture of me and cut it down to the 2X3 inch specification...

I had gotten my passport photos a while back and had extras so I just brought one of those. It was 2X2 and they didn't care. I also wasn't wearing a suit or anything in that picture.

I actually took my picture the night before at like 10:30...I had forgotten the picture...they really weren't too concerned about it...doesn't need to be anything special
