Indiana:
Pros:
Cheaper (in-state)
Cheaper cost of living
School has more residency options

Cons:
Not as diverse (patients or students)
Not sure which campus I will be placed at (I would die if it wasn't Indianapolis)

Georgetown:
Pros:
I like the Jesuit philosophy and commitment to service/social justice
More diverse patients and students
I would love to be in DC
Better global health initiatives

Cons:
Expensive
Seems like the school itself offers less residency programs, although they seem to have a pretty good match list

Overall, the two schools are ranked similarly. I'm not sure how to decide, and Indiana's acceptance is time sensitive, which sucks.

I have a buddy at IU and have worked with many docs from IU. They are all very well educated and get very good residencies. Also the opportunity to go to a school with cheap tuition is something you will be thankful for later. I work with a doc who went to IU but was from Michigan and said he regrets not going to an in-state school. He loved IU but his debt was enormous. You have to realize you will be taking out a lot more money than just tuition.

Go Indiana, both great schools, but you will save tons of $ not only on tuition, but living expenses. You will receive great medical education from both

Unless you’re early decision or something; accepting IU’s offer doesn’t lock you in. You can still rescind your acceptance when your make your final decision at the end of April.

Really? I hadn’t heard this before. If so, it makes the whole thing a lot less stressful.

Yeah. I’ve been accepted to IU and have sent in the paperwork accepting the offer and set my campus preference, but most likely won’t attend.

Yep! AAMC traffic rules state that you can hold any number of acceptances until April 30th, after which you have to pick one and withdraw from all other programs.
