Just thought I'd share that I just attended a presentation of the program. Overall I'm very impressed.

It is true, they're are no interviews. They are trying something new this year with a required "Admission Day". Sounds like any other interview trip (obviously without the 1 on 1). Their reasoning is that 2% of the people that they have come interview don't get admitted and they feel interviews can have personal biases of the interviewer (such as they don't feel the candidate dressed appropriate or didn't have enough eye contact). The admission day goal is to have you interact with multiple faculty members and multiple students during the day (9am-about 3pm). Sounds like a good idea to me.

Just wanted to give a BIG FYI. The rep says tuition in-state is about 20k and out of state is 34k. From his presentation verbatim "IT IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN STATE TUITION IF YOU AREN'T FROM INDIANA."

You can thank the government of Indiana for that.

Really? So they're saying that if you get invited to interview day, you have a 98% chance of being admitted? Wow. 😕

That's probably a good thing. I always found it puzzling at SUNY how after a year of attendance you qualified for instate tuition.

Is a bit strange, but I'm certainly not complaining!!!!

Yea, that didn't make too much sense to me either. Probably was just exaggeration to make a point. He gave us stats (that I don't remember all of them) saying they received about 550 applications last year and the entering class was 80 (out of 140ish that were offered admission).

They said if you get invited to an interview at IUSO THIS EARLY (October), you have a 98% chance of getting in. While IU is the only school that said that, I definitely got the vibe at my other interviews that everyone there was going to be offered acceptance, I wonder what other school's acceptance rates are for September and October interviewees?

I bought a house in the state that I go to school.. and I STILL dont get instate tuition............................
