Sucks that you got into med school, bro. Hang in there.
Let me be the second to offer my condolences. And as for the question about MDs getting residency preference, it has been answered many times so try the search function if you are a real person with a real question. If you are a troll, however, please go die under a bridge.

I mean at least you got into medical school, you need to look at the glass half full instead of the glass half empty, and to me I feel like you shouldnt be worrying about residencies right now till you hit your third year of med school. Your education is what you make it, do your best at that school, make good grades and do good on your exams and you will be able to get the residency that you want.
Regarding your question about MD vs DO, please read the sticky of FAQs. I guess these type of questions are popping up more now because everyone is getting their acceptance letters, but I can't help but get really frustrated when I see these types of threads.
However, I will say that if you are feeling very lackluster about your school because you didn't vibe with it when you went on your interview, maybe you should wait for more acceptance letters and making your choice. If you're lackluster b/c it's not Harvard / MD, maybe you should consider reapplying until you get a school you're happy with. I don't know what kind of response you were expecting by saying you went through college with little enthusiasm, fell into a DO school by luck, and are not happy with it. My advice is that when med school starts up, you work hard and not fall into another pattern of laziness because a DO school is just as hard as an MD one.

Yeah I know they are equally difficult. And you could not be MORE right about not falling into another pattern of laziness. I need to get my **** together.... I got in, that's enough for me. Now my objective should be to STAY in and to GRADUATE.

Hahahaha... I'm not a troll lol. This was a legitimate post, and I realized it was a stupid concern before I posted it, but I wanted to see whether there was anyone else who felt the same way right about now, but apparently.... there isn't,
. So I'm just going to appreciate the acceptance I have (forget all the schools that didn't come through!) and get excited and revved up for the coming school year!!! 👍
Edit:
Oh and to the schools that I didn't get into....... This is for you...😉

Obligatory question:
Which school, and when did you interview etc?
You should be happy, a lot of us would kill to know our fates at this point in time.

I heard back from them last Friday. You should give them a call! I'm sure they wouldn't mind and at least then you'll know where you stand.
Good Luck!
Hopefully we'll be classmates!!
