TBR Ochem Section IV (Hydrocarbon Reactions) Passage I #6.
The question is about the monochlorination of n-hexane.
In the answer key, it says that "the inductive effect would favor the formation of 3-cholropentane" (I think TBR means "3-cholroHEXANE" but I could be wrong).
Can someone explain how inductive effect is being applied to this scenario?
