I'm not sure where I read this, but it was something along the lines of canadian undergraduates having their GPA increasd by a couple of points, maybe 0.3 or something, AFTER conversion from canadian to american grades has been completed.

Is that even true, because I was unable to find evidence for such a policy.

canadian grade scales are different from US. so typically, yes, an applicant from a Canadian school will have a higher GPA when calculated by US Optometry schools.
