I have been trying to find some info on the Tampa General / USF EM program but it seems like all the links are bad (both from scutwork and the school website). Anybody know if there is a site for the program? I really just want to get an idea of curriculum, pay, vacation, benefits, etc. Just need the nuts and bolts, because scutwork o/w covers it pretty well. Some pretty favorable reviews have been written, and I'm interested.

Thanks for the link. Quinn (and any other USF folks) is there one thing that made TG stand out to you? Also, how is the Tampa area (cost of living, etc)? Again, thanks for the info.

I absolutely love living Tampa. I did my first two years down at NSU in Ft. Laud, then came to Tampa/Clearwater to do my 3rd/4th year rotations. Liked it so much I decided to stay. Originally wanted to go to the Univ of MD in Balto, did a rotation there, and planned on ranking it #1. However, I heard they were starting a new program down here in Tampa at USF and thought I'd interview here.

Its a small program, 6 a year, 3 year program. All at one hospital, TGH. Level I center, huge catchment area, all the specialties. Real nice hospital in the nicest part of town of Tampa. See not only the "inner city stuff" (lots of cocaine, HIV, trauma, etc), but also the "yuppie" side of stuff, since its in the most expensive real estate in the area.

I just love nearly everything about our program. Cant' name it to one thing. Very glad I made it here, and am honored to be Chief Resident.
