Hi all,
I had never really considered DO before, but as I read more on SDN, etc, it became more of a reality for me, and I figure that I should definitely lend it some thought. Where can I go for more information?

(btw, before the inevitable "OMG U R MD WASHOUT" responses I think I've got pretty solid numbers, 3.45 over all, 3.53 BCPM, 36MCAT (13V,12B,11P) and my allo rejections this year are probably due to lateness of application 😛)

WOW! I can't believe you didn't get an acceptance anywhere. 😱

If you were thinking about DO for this year, I don't think that will happen. Almost all the schools are done accepting primaries. But, when you reapply next year, I definitely think you should check into it. Check out these sites:
Good luck! :luck:

You can try for this application cycle, but most of the deadlines are already passed. It takes 4-6 weeks to get primary verified and another 2-4 weeks to get secondary. So, it is pretty late.

If you are very lucky, you might get in to one of the newer DO schools (eg. Touro NY), but I don't think you will want to do that. (not that there is anything wrong with new schools).
I believe you deserve to be able to choose the school of your choice.

I just checked your profile. Have you heard from Vermont yet? I am sure you will get into one of the allopathic schools even if it is late. Albany Med interviews through April. There are some really great people on the staff there. (I live outside of Albany.) But, they are really slow to update things. I am not sure about the other schools. I can't believe you won't get an acceptance somewhere with your stats. Don't give up hope yet. I agree with MCATTT, with those numbers, you deserve a choice. If you have to reapply next year, just get everything in really early. GOOD LUCK!!!:luck: :luck: :luck:

dude, you're getting into VT. They accept a ridiculous percentage of in-state applicants and you have amazing stats. Sit back and relax.

Well, UVM waitlisted me, so...

I'm definitely not considering applying this year, I figure it's wwwaayyy too late for that, but I was just considering next year. Thanks for the links 🙂

OMG!!! NO WAY!!! WTF?!?! I am calling them to complain!!!😡 WOW!!! Did you show up naked to your interview or something? 😱 :meanie: I still can't believe you won't get in somewhere with your stats. But, it is good to be prepared for next year.

Did you check back with Albany? They are seriously slow there, but I think you are above their averages. Albany is a great place to live too.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.:luck: :luck: :luck:

It just MIGHT have something to do with him having applied late ...

I still can't believe he won't get in.

I've heard about people who didn't get in with a good GPA (3.6+) and a great MCAT (32+) .. It happens. All cuminates to a probable lack in EC, interview skills, or just applying too damned late.

It was my 1st interview, and I was nervous, but I don't think I performed too awfully. Inviz is probably right about the ECs, too, and the lateness..
