NOTE: sorry posted this in the school specific discussion for some reason

Does an informal post bacc gpa count as a separate GPA WHILE also being integrated into your overall GPA? My mom is hesitant to pay for my informal post bac classes as she feels it is useless, and would not help my chances for re-application. I would be taking all upper division science classes and a masters program may be too expensive for us right now. I've reached out to admission committees but they are always slow to be back to me. I'll report anything I find.

Thanks in advance!

Counts towards your undergraduate GPA I believe, but yes it would be part of your Overall and Science GPA as well when AASDAS reports it.

East Carolina University reply about pre-req at CC on 5/16/16:

"Thank you for your interest in our program. We prefer for the prerequisite courses be completed at a 4 year institution. However, we understand that life sometimes dictates our choices and that might not always be feasible. I would encourage you to take some higher level courses at a 4 year once you retake the courses. Taking them at a 4 year institution will help you prepare for and show that you can handle the rigors of the dental school curriculum. Again, we do understand if you can’t take courses at a 4-eyear school so if you absolutely can not, focus on making other areas of your application stronger-DAT, community service, shadowing and service within the dental profession, etc. "

will adcoms look at your performance after undergraduate as separate? Let's say I took classes for a year in an informal postbac and got all A's. would the 4.0 for a year after undergraduate have any weight?

Absolutely, make sure its Upper-level biology classes and normal courseload and kill them but they definitely look at that as a big positive. What is your GPA right now?
