I was accepted into the January 2009 class at SGU, and I was supposed to finish graduate school in December 2008. However, there was an issue with one of my seminar classes, so to make a long story short, I will not be getting my diploma from the graduate school until May 2009. I do not have to attend any more classes in my graduate program, I do not even have to be in the same state, it is just some paperwork that needed to be shuffled around.
I called SGU and let them know that I would not be able to send them a copy of my diploma/degree-bearing transcript until May 2009. I also let them know that I will still be able to start classes in January. However, they called me back and told me that they are withdrawing my acceptance for January 2009 and placing me in the pool for August 2009, with the condition that I submit my diploma at the end of May (obviously, I do have a bachelors degree already). They told me that I am not guaranteed a spot for August 2009, but things should work out.
I do not know what this means and I am in complete shock (read: mildly freaking out). Does anyone have any experience with this or any information/advice? Thanks in advance.
