Amantadine is used to treat Parkinson's and similar conditions, as well as influenza type A infections.

Hehe, at my hospital, we have to keep Tamiflu in the C2 safe. They're concerned people (nurses) are going to stock up on them for themselves and others they know, like during the Anthrax scare with Cipro. I wonder if other hospitals are doing this too.

i didnt think you had to worry about flu's really if you are fit

all u needed was some doxycycline for anthrax.

I was taught that Tamiflu only reduces flu symptoms and it does not affected the development of serious complications or the mortality. Can anyone confirm or deny this? This was only a short blurb in the virology section of therapeutics

Amantadine hydrochloride:Amantadine hydrochloride capsules are given for the treatment of uncomplicated respiratory tract illness caused by influenza A virus strains especially when administered early in the course of illness. It is also given for treatment of parkinsons disease.It is also indicated for the treatment of drug induced extrapyramidal reactions.
