hey so for those of you who want to go to a specific school and got in, when will you inform the other schools that you dont want thier acceptance offer?

I've already canceled two interviews and will be writing to the rest very shortly.

Do we need to write a letter? I figure it would be best to call them so they can open up spots for other people asap!

Some schools, ***ahm, UPitt ***, are difficult to get a hold of, so a I figure that a letter would be just as good.

i would call them ASAP. i plan on calling all of my schools (acceptances and not-accepted-yet-but-will-interview) at the end of next week, when i have everything in. it makes the admins lives easier (instead of having a bulk of calls and mail in right before jan 15) AND it's common courtesy for your fellow peeps.

Three school has not been sitting on their thumbs for quite a while. My app has been complete and they have not sent out a letter letting me know if I am in review, rejected, or anything.

Im in the same situation. I'd like to think that maybe it means that we are at the very top of the wait list and they are simply waiting for the first cancellations to send out our acceptances!
