exactly how much detail does the dat go into in inorganic chemistry

for example, what depth are we required to go into for chemical kinetics

i could simply learn a few things, and move on, or i could make a little extra effort to learn a little more

in all, i do not want to waste any time, so how far in detail do i need to go, the kaplan blue book seems way way way too basic
