Thanks for sharing and congrats on matching into Ortho. What drew you in to Orthopaedic surgery?

Surgery is not for everyone. So when you get to your 3rd year and have to decide which field you wanter to enter, there are two pathways. Surgical (Urology, Gen Surg, ENT, Ortho, Plastics) or Non surgical (Internal medicine, Peds, Psych, Radiology) with the former being more competitive in terms of grades, board scores, performance in med school, etc. If you like using your hands (surgery) vs doing more thinking (medicine) then it will be an easy decision with lifestyle (more hetic), pay (better usually) and satisfaction (immediate gratification from surgery) as other deciding factors. So, long story short, I loved surgery (enjoy working with my hands and the constructive part of surgery) and hated rounding or sit/talking about patients for hours on end.
