HI! I have heard that it is easier to get in to UNC's pharmacy school if I am Out of State. Is this correct? I am a high school senior and have been accepted to UNC as an undergraduate student. If I attend UNC will it be easier to get into the pharmacy school or not?

State schools give preference to residents of the state.

I applied to UNC. They definitely prefer in-state students. They only take around 32 people out of state for a 155 person class. UNC is pretty competitive to get into anyways. I think they do prefer people who attended their school as an undergrad, so you would probably have a leg up on the competition.

You are DEFINITELY at an advantage if you apply to UNC's pharmacy school if you're a UNC student. There's even a higher chance of you getting in after completing just the 2 years of pre-req's (which is pretty tough here) and then applying to their pharmacy school ( as long as your grades are good and you're a competitive applicant)
