I asked my school if I had anything on my student record because I've been written up twice but I remember meeting with the dean and he said that the incidents would be expunged after a certain time because they were just warnings. Anyway, someone from the school finally got back to me and said

"You involved in a Section 22.16.10.30
(Disorderly Conduct Involving Alcohol and/or Drugs)/Possession and/or use of alcohol,
Your sanction was a “ Formal Warning “ and this sanction was completed.
This is what would be shared with any institution that request your student record, ( with your permission)."

22.16.10.30. Disorderly conduct involving drugs and alcohol such as, but not limited to, disorderly conduct induced by alcohol and/or a controlled substance as identified in Federal and State law or regulations, or unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, use, or sale of, or the attempted manufacture, distribution, dispensing, or sale of alcohol and/or controlled substances, as identified in Federal and State law or regulations.

I remember the campus security officer writing me up for underage drinking but never mentioned disorderly. I was completely compliant which is why the dean let me off easy. Should I contact my dean about this or just argue this on the institutional actions part of the AACOMAS

Well, I am not dispensing legal advice (though I am a lawyer) but the way I would read this is that you engaged in disorderly conduct OR you possessed or used alcohol unlawfully. If it were me I would explain (in the space provided) that the facts of your offense/violation included only possession and/or use of alcohol while underage.

Oh i guess I didn't interpret the slashes. I just got scared when i saw disorderly conduct and drugs. I wish they would include the officer report. The guy was writing a bunch of people up and thanked me for being compliant.

When the officer came in, I was just sitting on a couch and he could tell that I was drunk. So in my explanation, should I write

I was caught underage drinking and was issued a warning

Is that good enough

You might also want to include the part about being compliant and not disorderly as well, in case they have the same interpretation of that sanction.

man, you'd think my school would include the officer or dean's notes on the incident. just listed the code...

Does this sound lawyer-ly enough to include in my application

“I was written up for ‘use of alcohol’ according to UCSD Student Conduct Code Section 22.16.10.30. I was underage at the time. It was ill-thought out on my part. My dean let me go with a warning because the UCSD Residential Security Officer noted that I was completely compliant with him.”

to be honest, that doesn't sound lawyerly at all....not that it has to though, either.

I assume that this happened a long time ago...like FR or SOPH year? If so, just explain it in the AACOMAS box, own it, and you'll get plenty of IIs to explain in person.
