Which plan do you guys recommend for a single male with no other dependents that would be needing this insurance plan? Also, no known co-existing diseases or major prior conditions.

Attached are the benefits packages for each plan (bronze, silve, gold) and then the respective cost. Thanks for the help!

There is no clear answer. It depends.

If you're healthy and unlikely to get sick, then the bronze plan is the way to go. It's the cheapest.

Should you actually get sick, then you start paying deductibles / copays, and it's possible that the silver or gold plans might actually be cheaper despite the higher paycheck deductions. Plus, if you get really sick and decide you want to be seen at XYZ hospital which is world known for your rare illness, then the gold plan includes out of network coverage.

Thanks. I'll go for bronze then. I rarely see the doctor. The only time I'd been the last 2 years on clinical rotations was when I was sick during peds.

I've always opted for the PPO option because it always seemed that was the only way to not have to jack around with referrals.

It came in handy when I was 26 (also hardly ever went to the doc cause I was healthy and felt fine) and felt a lump on my neck that ended up being Hodgkin's.

It looks like the plans are very similar in costs aside from premium, which strikes me as odd.

We have a Catastrophic plan and a PPO to choose from...it was a no brainer. Yours is much more difficult.
