Just looking for some advice.

I'm graduating dental school and heading out of state for an AEGD program for 1 year. After that year I will return to my home state to practice.

I have taken my home state's licensure exam and will apply for that license. But I was curious if I should just wait to apply for my drug license or should I go ahead and get it now?

Also, what types of insurances do you recommend for someone doing an AEGD?

If you're covered by your AEGD, wait until about a year from now to get your DEA #. Since DEA #'s are renewed every 3 years, you'll get 1 extra year out of your DEA # that way and you can put off paying the fee for 1 more year.

You only save $180. I believe it is $550 for 3 yrs. It is a lot more convenient to have the DEA license during your residency. You can write prescriptions w/o having to ask someone (co-resident, instructor) who has the DEA license to sign for you.
