Can someone explain the differences between PPO and HMO and Medicare insurances, etc? What is an example of a PPO and one of a HMO? Why is one better or different from the other?

I was as clueless as you are a few weeks ago. All I did was google "difference between PPO and HMO"... you'd be surprised by the wealth of information out there. It was also dummed down enough that anyone out there could understand it.
