Int. Question on Poor Marks (louisville)

Hey everyone,
I have an interview at Louisville on Friday and I was hoping someone could offer me some ways to answer for some poor marks I received in my early undergrad years. Perhaps even ways to answer for W's on my transcript. I dont want to use the old "tough transition from high school" line because i feel that could be turned against me. Your help is appreciated.

I think honesty is the most important. If they were really concerned, why would they invite you for an interview? I think they just want to get to know you, we are human, we make mistakes and transitions are tough. That's that. This question might not even come up. I would just prepare by reading over my aadsas application and read about the school.

I agree.. honesty is best. But I would make sure to also think about how you could spin the negative into a positive. Ex: ______ happened freshman year, but then I learned ____ and brought my grades up.

at my interview there i was asked about a bad grade i received in a class freshman year and i told the truth that i did horrible from the beginning and i couldnt catch up anymore and sort of gave up and i could tell that the interviewer really appreciated that i was being honest and noted that when i retook i did much better and thats what was most important

Thanks for your replies everyone. I suppose youre all right, honesty is the best practice and ill just have to talk about how I've changed since then. If I mentioned that I had a few jobs at the time... was vonlunteering, playing sports, yadda yadda, would that hurt or help me, considering ill have to be good at balancing my time in dental school... thanks!
