You should realize that there are no "fast-track" IR programs. The total duration of training is still six years. You still do one year of IR fellowship after your residency. The only difference is that you do more IR and clinical rotation months in the IR pathway programs.
 
The 6 yr program serves very little added benefit in my opinion. It probably made more sense when IR fellowships were difficult to get, but these days you may want to pick on these places but then be a fellow at a top top program instead.

Sorry, by fast track, I was referring to the IR pathway vs. traditional rad residency + 1yr IR fellowship.
