I don't think he failed anything, but he was "average" in a few if I remember correctly.

I guess when you singlehandedly overthrow Newton, doing "well" is all very relative. But yeah... I agree, and that was my point. Einstein was no "average" joe who worked his way to greatness. He had one uniquely gifted brain.
