Hi everyone. I'm interested in pursuing an MSW and while reading through the posts here have been really helpful I still have some questions about how I stack up as a candidate.

A little about myself:
-I'm mainly interested in working with children/families
-I graduated in May '09 with a BA in psychology/minor in women's studies with an overall GPA of 3.58
-I have 2 years of research experience
-My relevant work experience entails working with children who have social/emotional/behavioral problems as a respite provider (in both group settings & 1:1), and I now work at a group home for adults with developmental disabilities

Is there something I should be doing that I'm missing? Should I spend more time working before going to grad school, perhaps at a job more suited to my interests?

The thing is, I'm at a point right now where I want to be doing MORE... my BA in psych is not cutting it. I'm certain I want to work with children but I don't know if I want to work in a school or some other agency.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing your opinions!

You are more than fine. I think the biggest thing is making sure you make it clear why you have chosen social work.
