how did you get through 2 of these videos? After 2 minutes I had such a visceral reaction of annoyance I couldn't watch anymore. You're a saint 🙂

I actually have some sympathy for sicklers. I think they really do hurt. I also think many of them really are addicts, but of a somewhat different stripe - if I had Sickle Cell I would probably be narcotic dependent, too. That doesn't mean I don't find them irritating - I'd say the sickle cell and renal personalities are among the most demanding and annoying - but I do think they often are legitimately hurting or withdrawing a bit, either of which is at least true discomfort.

yeah, i feel for sicklers in general as well. the annoyance was more towards the chick in the video, sickler or otherwise, the video just grated on me

She looks miserable in the video of her with a fever at 103.5 (link not provided above, look at associated videos when you view the first link). Not sure which ER she visited, but one makes me wonder if she complains a lot (like she did in the first video you posted) and didn't get seen quickly because of that.

I do feel sorry for sicklers, but a lot of them do become drug addicts. Those that are addicts (or who abuse the system - we had one sickler caught several times selling her pain meds) really taint the image for those that aren't addicted. I treated a dentist with sickle cell disease one day who refused narcotic pain meds. Toradol is what she requested, and surprisingly it and fluids made her pain free.
