Hello people, my first post here.

I was wondering if any of you guys are using interfolio.com instead of directly submitting your letters of recommendation to AADSAS. Are there any dental schools that refuse to accept letters submitted through interfolio? AADSAS has a waiver option to prevent students from accessing the letters in the future. Does interfolio have a similar option, or are the letters accessible to the student?

Since I feel awkward putting my evaluators through the trouble of submitting letters of recommendation every time I want to apply to professional/grad school, I was thinking of asking them to make the letters as general as possible so that they can be used later on for other programs I may be interested in, just in case I am unable to get into dental school. Do you think it is going to hurt my changes if my evaluators make no reference to dentistry in the letters they write for me?

And finally, do you guys know if interfolio is popular with other grad/professional schools or programs (especially grad schools since they don't have central application processing services like AADSAS, PharmCAS, etc.)?

I sincerely thank you for any input you may have.

I used Interfolio. I don't think dental schools care since all the letters of recommendations go from Interfolio to AADSAS so the schools would be getting them from AADSAS anyway.
I think it's assumed that all letters should be waived so that the writers can freely and honestly write what they want. I don't remember if it was an option but I know that I wasn't able to view the letters.

I used interfolio for my 4 letters this cycle. Letters get sent directly to ADEA and they forward it so there is no issue at all with letters being sent to schools. There is an option on interolio to request a confidential or non-confidential letter, but regardless which you request you cannot see letters sent to ADEA. I requested non-confidential letters without any issues.

I have never heard of this. For as long as you pay them the big bucks, they'll deliver your letters and keep them for future cycle(s). If you pay them even bigger bucks, they expedite it for you.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I just signed up for the service, but I'm not sure whether to use the confidential or non-confidential option. Which one did you guys use? If it doesn't make that big a difference, I would definitely prefer to be able to see the letters.
