Interfolio for LOR Question

Does anyone know if SOPHAS will accept LOR's sent from Interfolio or the individual SPH's that are not apart of SOPHAS?

I don't want to send LOR's to Interfolio and then find out after the fact that SOPHAS and individual SPH's will not accept them that way!

I'm using that service too and never thought about your quesiton. I waived right to access to all my letters and would it still be a problem to SOPHAS? Hmm...

I called interfolio couple weeks ago and asked the girl i spoke to said sophas needs a form attached. What form? i don't know. i haven't had the time to call SOPHAS. if you find out, let me know.

I'm not using interfolio, but I know that when I requested official transcripts from my university, they required the SOPHAS "Transcript Request Form" to mail my transcripts to SOPHAS (they include this form in the sealed envelope that gets mailed to SOPHAS).

You can find this form under the "Colleges and Universities Attended" section of your My Application page on SOPHAS. Once you add a new college or university, you can click on the little orange button under the "Transcript Request Form" column to download a form for the specific school(s) you attended. I believe you need one of these specific forms for each college or university you have attended.

Interesting. i didn't include a transcript request form. I just printed a page on sophas that had my sophas id up top, circled the id and asked every school to attach it to the transcript. That said, sophas has acknowledged receipt of the transcripts. i figured they needed something with my sophas id on it and since i wasn't sure what to do, i did that and it worked. My app is stalled because i find SOPHAS confusing.

I got in touch with SOPHAS and I hope you all read this but they told me that they will NOT accept LOR's from Interfolio. Do not ask me why but they won't so hopefully none of you have paid money to have transcripts or LOR's sent to Interfolio b/c SOPHAS will not accept them from Interfolio. They have to come directly from the recommenders themselves.

It doesn't make sense why they do not accept it b/c AMCAS and AACOMAS accept LOR's from Interfolio but SOPHAS does not 😕

This makes it really difficult for me b/c I was planning on going to med school after getting my master's degree and wanted to get my LOR's sent to Interfolio now for AMCAS but I would just have to ask my recommenders again in year fro SOPHAS. Damn they make this difficult.

Thank you for your reply! Wow, thank God I've got my 3 recommenders uploaded their rec letters on SOPHAS. UNC accepts LORs through Interfolio, though--I asked one of the admissions counselors via email and she said yes.
