Hey Everyone. Two questions.

1. Can you use Interfolio for both AMCAS and AACOMAS applications?I am aware that AMCAS has a LOR portion built into the application however, I do not want to bother the people writing my letters by making them go through two systems to send my letters.

2. My university's campus does not have a Premed comittee. I spoke with PCOM's admissions office on the phone and said that in order to compensate for not having a comittee letter that I must get a letter from either a Dean or my academic advisor. Is this standard for most medical schools?

1. You can use interfolio

2. I don't think it's standard - but I sent a LOR from both of my academic advisers to all the schools so I didn't have to worry about it. If you do plan on applying to PCOM, get that required letter but don't send it to all the schools if you don't want to. You can always add it to the school LOR list on AMCAS later if you find out that particular school requires it.

Thanks a lot for your help! I actually have another question if you don't mind. When you send your LOR's via Interfolio, do you receive confirmation from the individual schools that they have received your letters? Sorry if these questions are trivial I am just new to the application process and do not want to mess anything up!

For AMCAS, you'll send your letters from Interfolio to AMCAS, which will then forward your letters to the schools. AMCAS will notify you by email when letters are received. Individual schools' secondary application websites usually allow you to track the status of any letters received on their end.
