If I use interfolio for my LOR, is it true that the professors who upload are required to create a free account? If so, that seems like a little bit of a hassle for them.

there is nothing for them to create.

They will get an email from interfolio, in the email there will be a link, they click it and upload the document (done in less than 10 seconds)

my professor told me that he only keeps an account for the students he wrote a letter for, just in case he needs to update it for them later. (if they dont get in the first time)

otherwise, they do not need an account.

I think Interfolio requires you to create an account in order to upload the letter. This is the email that Interfolio sent to my prof. This is very annoying.

Dear Dr. xxx:

I am pursuing an opportunity that requires that I provide a letter of recommendation written about me by someone who knows me and my work. I am writing to request your assistance in that regard.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
xxxxx

This is also what I'm seeing. That is annoying.

I know I'm being annoying here but has anyone requested a letter be sent to interfolio recently where the prof didn't need to create an account?

yes you should have the right to create a Matching Form and the profs can attach this to their letter and mail it in. thats what i did and all my profs mailed it in. u need that because some schools refuse to look at letters unless they have the physical signature on them.

is this a new thing with interfolio? I haven't requested a letter in a LONG time (about a year and half now)....

It does seem a little annoying for the professor.

This really is a pain in the butt. I think I'll just use AADSAS. Does anyone know if the new application will be live at midnight tonight or do we have to wait until morning?

lol You guys are way too sensitive about time. It doesnt make any diff if you submit your application tonight or tomorrow morning or even next week. Relax.

if we are using interfolio, do we still provide AADSAS with our recommender's email?

What do we provide AADSAS for that section of the app?

Floss, takj ti dentalworks, he put up a whole thread on how to link the two of them up together to get the right stuff sent over from interfolio to AADSAS

If we are using interfolio, which reference type do we check? electronic? or paper?

I submitted my LOEs "paper" because Interfolio´s site said that in order to submit to AADSAS you must do it with paper instead of electronically. Does this mean I won`t get my app out in the first batch?

hey, i did the same thing. I think it just takes a long time to process

AADSAS saves your application for the next cycle in case you need it, i dont think you need interfolio anymore.
