Hey there!

Since pharm is such a small community I really don't want to step on anyone's toes (at least not yet). So I was wondering what's the best way to look ask for an intern position. It's winterbreak and I want a job fast, don't want to wait for ppl to post up positions available. Is it bad to call up a neighborhood pharmacy or Costco and ask the Manager directly? Or will that just annoy them, cuz their always so busy?

I did some of the online apps recently but it seems so vague...not knowing if there's positions available and just putting all your info out there.

Any advice?

The DMs for any of the chains/grocery stores are also good possible contacts. They can hook you up with work fast.

You most likely won't be able to start during break because the pharmacies are swamped with help during breaks but getting your resume in/making a connection this early will definitely set you up for next year/your next break.

Thanks for your advice everyone! So I guess i'll call around. I wonder when I should call... definitely not during lunch hour! haha. Has anyone actually just called in and gotten the job?

How do you get a hold of a DM? Is it published online?
I'm actually eyeing my neighborhood Costco. but I already know there's they have an intern. Do most stores only hire one?

what did they ask you about? is it really matter with short pharmacy experience? i have only a few month experience.. so i am kind of worried about it..^^^

Its like 6pm right now, I just called my local kmart and asked for the pharm manager. She said yea like we need ppl within the next month becuase thier intern is graduating soon! 😛She kept telling me to stay in touch ovr the next month, so yea try the DIRECT approach!!
