I've been hearing many stories about how much interns really make at Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens. Who here is an intern and can share how much they made in first year, second year, etc. Please list what state you are interning at and what retail pharmacy, or if hospital. I live in california, and is it true that once you get accepted into pharmacy school, you can be an intern immediately after you are approved, way before your first class of school?

My girlfriend made 13.50/hr in Memphis, TN. I assume it would be higher in Cali. That was for Walgreens. I think it took her like a semester to get all the paper work in to become an intern. She worked as a tech for three years for walgreens before she became an intern.

Nebraska: 13.25/hr hospital

I know people ranging from 11-14, though depending on experience and the shifts (i.e. night differentials at hospitals where you get around 10% more per hr)

Intern laws depend on the state. In Florida you have to be licensed before you can become and intern (usually this is in January after your 1st semester). I was an intern for Wal-mart my first summer and made $13/hr, I was also an intern last summer for $14/hr. It was one of the higher paying internships. I do know some people who work in the hospital and get like $25/hr but they drive really far to go to work and they work weekends even if they have a test the next week. I guess it just depends what you're looking for.

When I was a P1 in MA...
CVS: 11
Wags: 11.50
My hospital: 13 (1.50 evening diff, 1.65 weekend diff, 2 for nights)
Other hospitals I interviewed at: 10.50, 11-something
A local childrens hospital: 14
Semi-Rural community hospital kinda far out: 18 (and free room/board...im still kicking myself for not taking the job)

Now that I see all of your people's wages I'm kinda pissed, since my cost of living is ridiculous and I'm making the same as most of you. Maybe I should demand another raise or do less work or something.

Wal-mart: $17/hr (2nd yr)--$16/hr (1st yr). hiring process wasn't that long. was hired at the end of 1st academic term, beginning of 2nd academic term.
Hospital: $16.xx/hr. lengthened hiring process.
California.

how about salary in the bay area or los angeles area? those are the two places that i will be working and i would hope that the salary is enough to cover rent!

Norcal and Socal should be around $15-$17/hr for P-1's depending on company.

CVS is LA pays $16/hr while Rite Aid pays $15/hr. Looking at $1 raise for every year also.

I'm working at CVS just outside of Charlotte, NC; making $10.5 as a P1. I need to find out how much Walgreens, etc in my area pay.
